MTA Gift products online ordering terms and conditions

Please review and accept the following terms and conditions for ordering MTA products online.

1. Quantities, denominations and load values

MTA Gift Vouchers are sold individually in $10.00, $20.00 and $50.00 denominations. They also come in books of 10 vouchers. If you order any one denomination in multiples of 10, your vouchers will arrive as books. For example, if you order 12 x $10.00 MTA Gift Vouchers ($120.00), you will receive one book of $10.00 vouchers ($100.00) and two single $10.00 vouchers ($20.00).

MTA Gift Cards can be loaded with a minimum of $30.00 and a maximum of $500.00, and any amount between these two values, up to a total order value of $1500.00 in any one day.

You can purchase up to $1500.00 worth of MTA products online. If you would like to order more than this amount, please email the Product Services Team or phone them on 04 381 8821.

2. Delivery

Upon receipt and payment of an order, MTA products are sent the next business day (subject to verification of your order) to the delivery address supplied.

MTA uses NZ Couriers 'Track and Trace' packages to deliver all MTA Gift Vouchers. NZ Couriers deliver on business days and usually within 2-3 days.

Business days are Monday to Friday and exclude Public Holidays as defined under the Holidays Act 2003.

3. Lost or non delivery of MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards

All MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards are dispatched in NZ Couriers 'Track and Trace' packages. If you have not received your order and wish to locate them, please email the Product Services Team or phone them on 04 381 8821. Make sure you have the order reference number on your confirmation email so that we can trace the package.

Once you have received your order, if you lose them this is your responsibility. All MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards should be treated like cash and will not be replaced.

You are deemed to have received your orders if you do not notify us to the contrary within three business days of our email confirmation to you that your order has been processed. Please email the Product Services Team or phone them on 04 381 8821 if you have not received your order.

4. No refunds

Neither the MTA nor any MTA member will issue a refund on an MTA Gift Voucher or Gift Card.

5. International orders

MTA are happy to process online orders received internationally, where delivery is to a New Zealand address. However, if you would like to have an order delivered to an address outside New Zealand, you will need to email the Product Services Team or phone them on 04 381 8821 as freight and insurance charges will vary from those published.

7. Payment

MTA accepts online orders by VISA, MASTERCARD, American Express and Cardlink provided cards. Please note that Cardlink card transactions have a maximum order value of $750.00. All credit card transactions are processed using the secure ANZ eGate payment facility – a robust, high availability technology platform operated and supported by MasterCard International, integrated with ANZ bank systems. Credit card details you enter are not stored by MTA. At the time you place your order you will receive a web page display confirming that the transaction has been accepted or declined. If accepted, this will be followed up with an email confirming details of the order.

Credit cards are debited of funds for the order prior to products being dispatched. Payment must be received in full.

By ordering MTA products online, you warrant and undertake that all details you have provided to MTA for the purposes of ordering Gift Vouchers are correct, that the credit card used is your own, and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of your order. It is illegal to use a false name or a stolen credit card to place an order. Anyone caught making a fraudulent purchase will be prosecuted.

MTA reserves the right to decline your order if the total of all your orders exceed $1500.00 in any one business day. MTA may also query multiple orders placed by you with different credit cards.

8. Site security

MTA uses secure servers and 128 bit SSL (secure socket layer) data transfer for strong encryption of all customer information. This website is hosted by Outwide Limited, and all payments are processed through ANZ. ANZ provide additional encryption by the Payment Client application across SSL.

When entering a secure area on the MTA site, a padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen appears. In your address bar you will notice the 's' added to 'http', indicating encryption of data. This means personal data entered at our site cannot be intercepted and read by a third party.

Technical measures employed by MTA are best e-retail practice against loss, alteration or unauthorised third party access to customer information.

9. Freight and insurance charges

Online credit card purchases of MTA produts are subject to freight and insurance charges. Please check these at the time you place your order.

MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards are treated like cash and therefore are not subject to GST, however freight and insurance charges do attract GST.

10. Using your MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards

You can buy almost any product or service offered by MTA members nationwide. From chocolates to clutches or from milk to magazines, and of course petrol and vehicle servicing, there’s something for everyone to buy with their MTA Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards.

Each MTA member has their own policy in place for giving change on products or services purchased with MTA Gift Vouchers. If you do not wish to spend the full value of the voucher, then prior to purchase, please check with one of the staff to clarify their policy on giving change.

No change will be given on MTA Gift Cards, any balance will remain on the card until its expiry date.

11. Policy and disclaimer statement

The following information explains MTA’s policy regarding any information you may supply to us when you visit the MTA website. MTA collects no personal information about you when you visit the website unless you choose to provide that information to us. MTA will not give, share, sell or transfer any personal information supplied via the website to any third party unless required to do so under law. The information MTA receives depends on what you do when visiting this site. In general, MTA receives two types of information: The personal information you provide voluntarily, and information that is collected and stored automatically.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AND STORED AUTOMATICALLYBecause of the way internet computer servers work, MTA receives certain information about general activity on the website. This information does not include personal information, and is used to help MTA make this site more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to the site and the types of technology they use. Information may be collected as follows:

  • the internet domain and IP address from which you accessed the site;
  • the type of browser and operating system used to access the site;
  • the date and time you accessed the site;
  • the specific pages you visited; and
  • if you linked to the website from another website, and the address of that website. 

PERSONAL AND IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
MTA does not automatically collect personal information about visitors who view or download information from MTA websites. However, personal information may be voluntarily provided by you for certain reasons. Personal information may include, but is not limited to, email addresses, responses to surveys, electronic form filling or registering for services. Any personal information you voluntarily provide will be treated the same as any other written communication received by MTA and may be subject to public inspection or legal disclosure and may be saved for a period of time before being destroyed.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATIONMTA’s goal in collecting personal information online is to provide you with the most personalised and effective service possible. By understanding your needs and preferences, MTA will be in a better position to provide you with improved service. MTA will maintain the confidentiality of information it receives online to the same extent it is legally able to do so with respect to information obtained through other means. In using email addresses provided at registration or otherwise, and opting to receive ‘future information on Gift Card promotions’, users are giving MTA permission to periodically send out email newsletters and promotional mail (both electronic and physical) to MTA users about website updates, and product and service information offered by MTA.

Users may indicate that they do not wish to receive email information from MTA. Upon request, MTA will remove users (and their information) from any MTA database or permit them to elect not to receive any further email newsletters or contact.

Communication made through email and messaging systems shall in no way be deemed to constitute legal notice to MTA or any of its agencies, officers, members, employees, agents or representatives, with respect to any existing or potential claim or cause of action against MTA or any of its agencies, officers, members, employees, agents, or representatives, where notice to MTA is required by any laws, rules or regulations.

One of MTA’s online services is to provide educational information about MTA; therefore, children are not restricted from visiting the MTA site. MTA urges children to give MTA any information only after first gaining permission from their parents or guardians. In some cases, there are age limits for certain contests and giveaways.

Cookies are small text files that a web server may ask your web browser to store, and to send back to the web server when needed. Cookies may be used to store a transaction identifier or other information a user may provide.

SECURITY
MTA takes reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to MTA secure. MTA website employs industry-standard methods to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorised attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage. While the MTA website is not held on a secure server, the MTA Gift Store is; see Item 8 ‘Site Security’. MTA will not be held responsible for any loss resulting from information provided.

12. Terms and Conditions

CONDITIONS OF SALE:

No Alteration to Conditions of Sale:

No employee, representative or agent of MTA has any authority to alter any of these Conditions of Sale.

Re-Supply to Third Party:

A purchaser who re-supplies to a third party any gift vouchers purchased under these Conditions of Sale shall ensure that such third party enjoys no better rights against the MTA in respect of such gift vouchers than would be enjoyed by a purchaser from the MTA subject to these Conditions of Sale. The purchaser agrees to keep the MTA indemnified accordingly.

Acceptance of Conditions of Sale:

The placing of any order with MTA for gift vouchers and cards, by a purchaser shall constitute deemed acceptance by the purchaser of these Conditions of Sale.
