Driver of the Year - A Great Result for NZ!

When you think back to the days of Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme and Chris Amon; for a small country we certainly seem to produce great race car drivers

With six categories New Zealanders have certainly punched above their weight in motorsport in 2009.

Evans not only won "Junior driver of the year", astonishingly he was placed third overall in the "Driver of the Year" behind Jenson Button, Formula 1 champion and Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel 2nd.

Nascar legend Jimmy Johnstone was 4th overall.

Craig Baird was 2nd overall in "Touring car driver" and Scott Dixon was 3rd overall in "Open wheel driver" Ritchie Stanaway was 5th overall in "Young driver"
