Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Amendment Bill Exposure – draft
In November 2011 the government announced a package of responsible lending initiatives to be incorporated into the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 (the Act). The announcements were made after considering the recommendations made at the Financial Summit held last August.
The Summit, attended by consumer and industry representatives, came out with a clear direction to make changes to the Act to include responsible lending requirement. This draft has now been produced for consultation.
