Dixon Wins Kansas
After the frustration of the first two rounds (both on road courses) and not gaining any championship points, Scott Dixon has won the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway. This will be a victory that will catapult the team with confidence into the month of May and their preparation for the Indianapolis 500.
Second was Helio Castroneves from Tony Kanaan.
The win sees Dixon jump to fourth in the series points picking up 50 for the victory and two for leading the most laps.
"I think we were trimmed to win as they say," said Dixon, who started fourth in his 99th IndyCar Series event. "It's still very tight and we're still within a shot to win this championship. We're definitely looking strong going into Indy."
Dixon was the beneficiary of a Lap 153 yellow flag when teammate Dario Franchitti's No. 10 entry made contact with the T3 SAFER Barrier. Briscoe, the race leader since Lap 99, had dipped onto the deceleration lap to pit but didn't cross the timing line before the caution flag flew. Briscoe had to drive through pit lane without service before re-entering the pits the next lap.
