Meet our people in the know. These are the trusted advisors that work closely with our members to accelerate their businesses, providing trusted and valued advice to their MTA industry sector members.
Meet Tony, our dealer and mediation specialist who has been with MTA since 2004. He looks after MTA’s advocacy activities relating to the dealer sector and the retail vehicle market. Tony participates in the preparation of MTA submissions on related legislative measures being considered by government. He also manages the Dealer Advisory Group (which includes dealer representatives from the new, used and motorcycle sectors). The Advisory Group serve as the ‘go-to’ guys for MTA to draw input, ideas and guidance from as MTA defines its stance on the issues that confront the industry. Life in the motor industry started for Tony in 1980 when he joined General Motors (GM) in Upper Hutt. During this time, he worked in a range of positions including engineering, finance and personnel, before ending up as their Dealer Development Manager. In 2000, Tony joined Marac Finance (again working with dealers). He then went on to take an F&I role with a local Holden dealership before joining MTA. As Tony freely admits, his extensive industry background equips him well for the tasks he now confronts.
