MTA100: CAR SHOW OF THE CENTURY
This month our attention is focused on the preparations for the MTA100 Car Show of the Century. At the end of this month 28-30 April, we will be hosting MTA's largest ever event, which is quite fitting since it celebrates a century of the motor trades working together for the benefit of the sector and the public.
MTA100: Car Show of the Century
Our Car Show of the Century is a public celebration and a real attention-getter. The line-up of cars on display ranges from the classic Cadillac to the nautical Aquada, and the jaw-dropping Swiss concept car, Budii.
But its not just cars, motorbikes, a few trucks and more cars. There is also a fascinating panel of speakers, ranging from the head of Rinspeed and his designer through to future thinkers from the Transport Agency, Generation Zero and the business world. Check out the programme on the website.
For members, the event comes with a fabulous launch, a gala dinner at Te Papa and lots of chances to catch up with old friends.
This is your last reminder to book for the event. All the details are on the website and if you only want to come to the exhibition, I recommend that you book a day ticket ($12 for adults, children under 14 free) on our website: www.mta.org.nz so you can jump the door queues. You can also reserve a seat online for each speaker session you want to attend.
FAREWELL
I recently attended a farewell for three Kaimai Region members: Stewart and Marilyn France, Terry Grimmer, and John Patton.
It was a privilege to share the evening with these members who have each made a massive contribution to their branch, the region and MTA generally. Without their staunch support, the Greater Waikato branch and Kaimai Region would not be what they are today. My very best wishes on behalf of the MTA to all of them as they head down what is a very well-deserved retirement road.
